Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Friday said he won't hike salaries of legislators and that he did not consider Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as his "role model".

"Kejriwal is not my role model. Even if the decision (on hiking salaries of legislators in Delhi) is favourable for MLAs, Kejriwal is not our role model," Parsekar said.

He was asked if he was considering hiking salaries of the state's 40 legislators on the line of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi which on Thursday decided to hike legislators' salaries steeply.

With the latest increase, the wages of a Delhi legislator has risen from Rs.88,000 to Rs.2.10 lakh. In Goa, the average salary of a legislator is around Rs.1.14 lakh a month.
