Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, a well-known Paris Saint-German (PSG) fan, has said he would be willing to pay out of his pocket to get Italian club Juventus player Paul Pogba signed for the French club.

Sarkozy conveyed in a conversation with Twitter users on Saturday he is a friend of PSG's Qatari president Nasser al-Khelaifi, and asked him to do anything possible to sign Pogba, joking about the need to simply name his price, reports Efe.

The player's agent has not closed the door on leaving Juventus at the end of the season even though Pogba reached the Champions League final with the team.

Media reports have said English club Manchester City is willing to pay 95 million euros ($108.6 million) to secure his services.
