A high-ranking commander of the Yemeni armed forces was killed Saturday in a bomb attack in the port city of Aden, a government official said.
Brigadier Ahmed Saleh Omari was killed in Aden's Mansoura district, when a bomb believed to have been attached to his car exploded near a public market, Xinhua reported citing a government official.
The brigadier was posted as a director of the military supply unit in Yemen's troubled Shabwa and Marib provinces.
The blast left him seriously injured and he died at the hospital, a security official said.
