Young designers to glam up age-old Indian handloom craft

The capital is set to welcome a daylong fashion and lifestyle exhibition in the form of Fuse - From India With Love.

The initiative will bring together many young designers who will showcase their work in the field of handicrafts in India, reshaping the way people look at them, read a statement.

The event will be held at Akshara Theatre here on November 21 and will showcase an amlagamation of 20 brands ranging from home, apparel, jewellery, accessories and even food.

The event is a showcase of artisanal pieces by brands from across India like Jodi, Tokree, Fooljhadi, Bangdar Sarali, Cord, Asa, Lotos, amongst many others.

 

For others looking for quirky finds and interesting collectibles, there will be a section of stationery designs by Craft Boat, patio and garden design elements by Earthbox, and shoes by Banjaaran, among others.

As an initiative to help and support indigenous design brands, special attention has been paid to the event layout and the look and feel of the venue with the entire facade being done up in organic elements of wood and bamboo.

There will be separate areas where customers can lounge on the grass and enjoy the festivities.

A distinct area is being set up which is a "get the look" corner and would be styled with all the brands on board. In addition to this there will be an installation also specifically created for the event on display.

The event has been conceprulised by Gazal Bawa and Nainika Bathla of the brand IDAM and Gauri Verma of the brand Jodi.
