A southern media house, which is known to be facing tough times, has devised a novel means to raise money. The HR department has issued a memo to its journalists to hand over every gift they receive during the course of their work. It is not that the management is frustrated by the fact that their journalists do not follow the rule on not accepting gifts. It is just that the gifts that will be handed over will be auctioned to raise money to meet the media house’s budgetary needs.
