Passengers on the SpiceJet flight from Kolkata to New Delhi witnessed what they thought was a real-life enactment of the film 3 Idiots. After three hours of delay, the flight finally took off at around 3.30 pm, but only to return to Kolkata. A passenger in the front section started breathing heavily and complained of a heaviness in the chest. An ambulance was on standby when the plane returned. The passenger was checked by doctors on board and after this, co-passengers glued to the aircraft’s windows saw, the passenger waited for the SpiceJet bus to come to the plane and then picked up his hand baggage and boarded the bus. The airline, however, says the doctors had found the patient unfit to fly — he insisted, however, that he would go home on his own and didn’t need an ambulance.
