While there may be questions against some civil society members of the Anna Hazare group, others are trying to garner more support for their movement. The mobile phone has come in handy in this effort, as retired top cop Kiran Bedi has started sending bulk SMSes to people, inviting them to join their organisation “India against Corruption”. The Congress too is allowing its leaders to take on the civil society. Party general secretary Digvijaya Singh has asked Hazare to go to Uttar Pradesh and stage a protest against the Mayawati government there.
