When C P Joshi took over as minister for roads and highways, for the first 15 days, he was simply unavailable to everyone, especially those who began beating a path to his door to ‘get their work done’. Some discreet enquiries were made — exactly, where was he? It transpired that for several months, a portrait painter from Rajasthan had been pressing him to have his portrait painted. When Joshi realised the sharks he was swimming against in the ministry of roads, he decided he would become incommunicado until he found his feet. So, he used the time to get his portrait painted.
