To an outsider, the intensity of Indians' love for cricket might be incomprehensible, but it was on full display as tickets for the ICC World T20 semi-final clash between India and the West Indies in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Thursday sold at almost four times their printed price.

Several Mumbaikars, who had bought tickets online before India breezed into the semi-finals, were busy counting cash as their Rs 5,000 tickets went for Rs 20,000 apiece. Apparently, a large number of the tickets were lapped up by companies, which wanted to keep their friends in the bureaucracy, tax departments and banks happy no matter how high the price.
