AAP's Gandhian moment

Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Rajmohan Gandhi joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a few days ago and may consider contesting the Lok Sabha elections on a party ticket. He also drew a parallel between the Mahatma's independence movement and AAP's anti-corruption movement. When an AAP insider was asked if other Gandhi ideologues are expected to join the party, he swiftly replied, "Many modern-day Gandhians were almost ready to join us, but we know how some announcements that were made in public two days ago completely changed the picture." That was a reference to Anna Hazare, who has come out in support of Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, two days before Rajmohan Gandhi's entry into the party, creating competition of sorts in the Gandhi-giri stakes.
