Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee brought out a White Paper to show that the Railways performed quite poorly under her predecessor Lalu Prasad. With Prasad’s support critical for the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, however, Banerjee has been forced to sing a different tune. After the all-party meeting on the Women’s Reservation Bill, she came to Prasad and said, “Please don’t leave without having lunch. I have already sent Mulayamji (Singh Yadav) there.” Prasad was apparently pleased but didn’t wait to have lunch.
