All work and no play

While launching a new book by Balvinder Kumar, secretary of the ministry of mines, Piyush Goyal (pictured), the power, coal and mines minister, remarked he was surprised that a bureaucrat had been able to write a book while still in office, even though the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is known to make officials slog long hours and not give them enough time for recreation. He added that "some people" rued that bureaucrats didn't get time to even play golf after the NDA government came to power. He asked Kumar to shelve plans of writing another book for two-three years or at least till the government completed its term.
