Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram appeared to be so miffed by the various complaints and issues that private sector executives raised at a recent summit on public-private partnerships (PPP) that he chose not to speak from his presentation but address the issues one by one instead. Before that, however, he got in a dig at the report on PPP released by a speaker from Ernst & Young before him. The speaker had said the government had no PPP policy and then added that the government needed to improve its PPP policy, a contradiction by the private sector within five minutes of the start of the conference, Mayaram pointed out.
