The chairman of one of the leading Indian real estate and construction companies recently held a press meet to announce the group’s educational endeavours in the field of animation and video-game designing. So eager was he to give details about how “world-class” the institute is that he kept elaborating on the more than world-class treatment its faculty is getting. Flown in from France, the faculty is paid in euros and given various facilities like a gym, a swimming pool and so on. Not only this, the chairman also informed reporters that the teachers often make the company fly in chefs from France to satisfy their culinary tastes. Nicolas Sarkozy may be stressing on the virtues of austerity like never before, but this bunch of French people seems to be living it up in India.
