At a time when the diesel price rise has metaphorically sent the government into intensive care, the health ministry may have a cure. At any rate, this highly emotive issue even dominated a recent Group of Ministers (GoM) meeting on the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Policy. Discussing drug prices, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “We must reduce drug prices or else the government may even have to face fire on this front.” In other words, the government could be using one D (drugs) to allay the sufferings from another D (diesel).
