The public relations industry has grown so rapidly since 1991 that today even mid-size companies, listed or unlisted, appoint agencies or corporate communications executives to liaison with the media on a regular basis. Not so one of India's largest personal care product companies. Approached for an interview on their market-winning strategies, the company balked. It would need board-level clearance, they demurred before an interview was possible — even for a positive story!
