People of Bengal are often accused of flaunting their unconcealed pride in having consistently produced outstanding talents in diverse fields - a Tagore, a Swami Vivekananda, a Netaji, a Jagadish Bose or a Satyajit Ray. But it would now appear that Bengal has learnt to laugh at itself. In its latest edition, hitting the newsstands just before the annual Durga Puja celebrations, a leading Bengali magazine, Desh, has put two sons of Bengal on its cover - Subrata Roy of Sahara and Sudipta Sen of Saradha (above). Both have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The cover story - a short two-page piece - outlines with equally unconcealed sarcasm the manner in which these two gentlemen have attained feats that no Bengali would feel proud of.
