With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) posting a resounding victory in the Assembly polls in UP, a war of words of sorts has broken out in neighbouring Bihar. Members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), an alliance partner of the ruling Janata Dal United (JDU), have accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of helping BJP come to power in UP. They say Kumar first supported demonetisation and then confused people by not allowing the the JDU to contest elections in UP. Taking strong exception to that allegation, JDU members have urged RJD chief Lalu Prasad to rein in his party men.
