Warren Buffett may be the most famous face of America’s philanthropic capital but not everyone knows how to pronounce his name. Is the pronunciation the same as the verb “to strike repeatedly” or the noun that indicates a meal set out for diners to help themselves? The Internet editor of an Indian publication learnt this the hard way when he asked his sub-editors to use a picture of Buffett to go with a report on the Oracle of Omaha. What initially appeared was a picture of people queuing up before a spread of the choicest food on a long table.
