Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth has sent a stern note to all secretaries across ministries and government departments admonishing them for badly drafted Cabinet notes. Sub-standard notes cause ministers "considerable inconvenience,'' and decisions are being delayed, his letter said. As a result, officers associated with making Cabinet notes have been advised to attend workshops on the subject and secretaries instructed to devote personal attention while preparing Cabinet notes. Cabinet notes must be "conceptually clear, lucid, well-organised" for smooth decision-making during Cabinet deliberations, Seth's letter added.
