The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bangalore seems to be trying its best to project a "modern" image. Some youth canvassing for the BJP candidate, former Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, in the North Bangalore constituency opted for a very formal look, with ties and mannerisms to match. Perhaps it was a means to tell potential voters that BJP is more than a saffron party. But the catch: many people mistook them for salesmen and shooed them away.
