The government is under pressure from the Samajwadi Party to withdraw the disproportionate assets case against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. While the counsel for both the government and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) pleaded for withdrawing the case, the two-member bench of the Supreme Court turned down the plea.
After several meetings between key SP and Congress leaders, it was decided the government and CBI counsel would both be changed, but this didn’t help either.
