While campaigning for Trinamool Congress candidate for the Jadavpur Assembly seat Manish Gupta, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said something that raised a few eyebrows.
"You can cast your vote in favour of Manishda. He is not a thief," she said. Banerjee has been criticised for harbouring people with dubious credentials in her party and some of them - or images resembling six Trinamool candidates - feature on the Narada tapes.
Gupta does not figure on those tapes.
