The arrival of an Indian contingent for the Asian Junior Championships that started in Taipei (Taiwan) on Thursday was delayed for an embarrassing reason. The word doing the rounds is that the visa facilitating agency sent the visa applications to the Chinese Embassy thinking "Chinese Taipei", the name Taiwan uses when it participates in international organisations and events, was in China. At the last moment, the applications were sent to the right destination (the Chinese Taipei representative office), and visas were given out. But this has meant the athletes arrived one day after the Games had begun.
