Surgical shot

“Surgical strike” has become the buzzword of the season. The announcement of strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir by the Indian Army whipped up a frenzy led by television news channels. Cricket wasn’t unaffected. As part of his commentary routine, former Indian cricket player Ravi Shastri was heard using the words ”surgical strike” to describe the shots played by India skipper Virat Kohli during the India-New Zealand One Day match earlier this week. Cyrus Mistry’s “ouster” as Tata Sons chairman by the Tata group was also referred to as a “surgical strike” by several TV channels.
