Cinema to the rescue

Bollywood stars and those working in Marathi movies are in great demand by political parties and organisations floated by them to take up various social causes. Filmdom’s participation is no longer restricted to election campaigning but is being extended to prize distribution functions, sports events, inauguration of welfare schemes or programmes to commemorate some leader or key strategic organisation. The objective: to pacify the aam aadmi who are annoyed with political leaders as a result of serial scandals in the state.
