Finally, Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary Amar Singh can claim that the Congress has done something to appease him. Satyabrat Chaturbedi, a party spokesman, has been removed from the party’s panel of spokespersons, although he had stopped briefing the media on behalf of the party almost six months ago.

The SP leader was furious with Chaturbedi as he kept describing Singh as “a fit case for mental asylum” and advised “a check-up from neck up”. While Singh had also lodged complaints that Digvijay Singh too is hurling abuses, the Congress didn’t act on that. Chaturbedi, meanwhile, retains his berth in the Congress Working Committee as well as other party posts.
