As the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) nears the completion of its second term in office despite all odds, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not let go of any opportunity in taking the ruling coalition to the mat. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar recently pointed out how the present UPA government had broken all records - it had covered all the five elements in the Indian shastras, referred to as the "panch tatva": "gagan" (sky) in the Antrix-Devas scam and the chopper scam; the earth surface "kchit" in the various defence land scams, "pavak" (fire) in the coal scam, "sameera" (air) in the 2G spectrum scam and jal (water) in the offshore mining and Ganga and Yamuna Action Plan scams. "The Congress has left not a single place in the entire county without a scam," he concluded.
