CPI(M) leaders turn Mamata-shy

When Lalu Prasad was the railway minister, CPI(M) leaders used to meet him frequently over some demand or the other. Since their arch-rival Mamata Banerjee now occupies the chair, they avoid meeting her and have resorted to sending letters. The CPI(M) leader in the Lok Sabha, Basudeb Acharia, recently sent Banerjee two letters related to demands for various railway projects for West Bengal and modernisation of railway printing presses. CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta also decided not to meet Banerjee, even though the railway minister is open to meeting all MPs for pre-Budget consultations. RSP leader Abani Roy, however, didn’t miss the opportunity and met Banerjee with his wishlist.
