The opening of Swedish fashion retailer H&M's first store in Mumbai just before Independence Day drew huge crowds. Photographs of a serpentine queue of youngsters waiting for the store to open its doors at a popular mall prompted social media users to take a jab at the brand as well as its patrons.
Some wondered if the crowd was paid to line up; others posted memes comparing the excitement among the young people in the queue to the outpouring of public support for the Quit India Movement.
