The Commonwealth Games held in the Capital last year may be under scrutiny, but not all is bad news. The Games have made some positive contribution as well, and we are not talking about the medal tally here. Officials of the information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry, including the Press Information Bureau (PIB), have been provided with huge flat-screen TV sets in their offices, a breakaway from the archaic television sets that these officials had to make do with. It is learnt that these LCD TVs (56 inches) were installed at the Commonwealth Games Press Centre, which was under the administrative control of the I&B ministry and the PIB. After the Games, however, the LCDs were moved out of the Press Centre and into the I&B offices.
