Mumbai’s Page 3 crowd is currently engaged in a hot discussion over the chances of high-profile journalist and socialite Shobhaa De being appointed Mumbai’s new Sheriff. Curiously, despite her strong views on the violence against non-Maharashtrians, the saffron parties may not put a spanner in her appointment since De is a Mumbaichi Mulgi (Mumbai’s daughter). She comes from the Maharashtrian Rajadhyaksha family and her brother, well-known photographer Gautam, is close to both the saffron parties and the ruling Congress-NCP as is De.
