Bars and pubs in India's technology hub Bengaluru are now open past the Cinderella hour. The reason for keeping them open till 1 am, the new deadline, is to help techies beat stress and improve the business climate.
There is some criticism over the new timing by concerned citizens in residential areas. Karnataka Excise Minister H Y Meti says he has a good reason to extend the timing: Bengaluru residents who drink alcohol don't create trouble -they are a decent lot.
