Congress party campaign panel chief Ajay Maken might have bitten off more than he can chew. The deliberate sidelining of his bête noire, former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, has not gone down too well with some party members. A Congress leader lamented, "More than the people of Delhi, it appears Maken and people close to him are out to put the blame for the Congress' debacle in Delhi squarely on her shoulders." The Congressman added that Dikshit should have been roped in for a more active role in the campaigning, especially as the party was banking on its 15-year governance record in Delhi. In fact, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Arvinder Singh Lovely was even asked about Dikshit's absence from the party's manifesto release event in the capital, to which he could only mutter that yes, she would campaign for the party.
