Succumbing to relentless quizzing by Supreme Court judges, the Haryana advocate general admitted on Wednesday that the trouble for Valmikis in Mirchpur village started when a dog belonging to a lower caste person barked at boys belonging to upper castes. Two Dalits were killed and the rest have fled the village. The judges remarked: “Even a dog should not have been killed for this; if this keeps happening, no dog would be left in the country.”
