Much has been made about Sudheendra Kulkarni being on a panel set up by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to examine the scope of public-private partnerships. The panel is to be headed by Ficci Secretary General Amit Mitra and Kulkarni was made a member of the panel before he quit the BJP as an active member.
He continues to be an ordinary four-anna member of the party, though. It seems Banerjee has known him from the time he was in the Vajpayee PMO and was impressed with his cool and rational approach to ticklish issues.
