Export pessimism

 In an otherwise relatively bright scenario, with GDP growth for the year being projected by most forecasters at certainly over 6.5 per cent, this stands out as the one disappointing development.

 It is not difficult to explain the second quarter reversal. The rupee has been appreciating against the dollar for some months now, driven by persistent inflows.
