K Keshav Rao, the Congress party’s general secretary in charge of West Bengal, has never managed to get any political concessions from Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee so far. She never gave the Congress party any extra seats in the Lok Sabha elections, nor did she oblige in the recent by-polls for the assembly. Rao, however, managed to get a personal gift from Banerjee a few weeks ago. Some Tamil MPs had come to meet the railway minister and presented her a silk shawl. Banerjee’s next visitor was Rao and she promptly put the white shawl on Rao and said, “Raoji, you look very smart wearing this shawl. Please keep it.”
