Narendra Modi has definitely created a buzz among voters in most parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. But the local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in constituencies in these states are worried that they may not be able to benefit from this "wave". Specifically, they are concerned that less educated voters, of which there are many, may look for Modi's name, instead of the local BJP candidate's, on the electronic voting machines. So, these contenders have requested the party to print their names along with their ballot numbers and the party's election symbol on fliers, so that voters can easily identify them. Perhaps that's one reason Modi is also seen sporting the party's lotus symbol on his clothes these days.
