At a meeting between the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and industry in the capital, someone asked what would happen if the agency did not find any wrongdoing by a company or industry in the course of its investigations. Could they sue the CCI for the expenses incurred? This made the generally reserved CCI Chairman Ashok Chawla smile. "You will not get anything if you do so. We just get our salary from the government," he replied with wry humour.
