The body of the woman was found in a forest near Lankapara village under Bhairamgarh police station of the district two days ago.
"Taking seriously the rape and murder of a tribal community health worker in Lankapara village...The party has constituted a five-member probe committee," Chhattisgarh Congress spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said.
The committee, to be headed by state Congress Vice President Kawasi Lakhma, will soon visit the area and submit its report, Trivedi added.
Police, however, ruled out rape. "The medical examination revealed that she had not been raped," Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal said.
The woman had been strangled, he said.
The victim was working as 'Prerak' who impart training to 'mitanin' (health workers), and was posted in Patarpara village, 400 km from capital Raipur.
