While several state capitals are in queue for new governors, with incumbent ones having finished their term, the supply-demand mismatch is delaying decision making. Several senior politicians are in the running for governorships. One casualty of this excess demand for gubernatorial office is that retired civil servants have been told to give up their hope. The only plum job going will be that of Lt Governor of Delhi, and there are three retired IAS officers angling for that — one close to 7, Race Course Road, a second close to 10 Janpath and a third close to the next generation!
