Nitin Gadkari has gone blue in the face denying the rumour that listening devices were found in his house. But Gujarat Congress leaders at least are refusing to heed his denials. Shaktisinh Gohil, senior Gujarat Congress leader and former leader of Opposition, was in the capital recently and said he wasn't surprised. "After all, Gujarat culture has come to Delhi." In Gujarat, he said, snooping and spying had become a perfected tradition under Narendra Modi as chief minister; he is now the prime minister. "First," he recounted, "there was the case of the young woman who was being tracked, then there was the case of surveillance on a minister in the state Cabinet, Haren Pandya. Now, since Gujarat has come to Delhi, so has the culture."
