Wednesday’s order of the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, on the Rafale deal left much to be desired. Hearing writ petitions against the defence aircraft deal announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then French President Francois Hollande in 2016, the apex court only asked the government to furnish details of the decision making process, that too in a sealed cover.
