A senior Congress leader in Chhattisgarh has set a precedent of sorts by tendering his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi on the grounds that he was of no use to the party. In his resignation letter Diwan said the party had not given him any responsibilities for the past two years so he concluded he was of no use to the organisation.
