Railway Minister Mukul Roy has been regularly criticised for his long absences from his office in Delhi. So much so that important files were sometimes sent to Kolkata for the minister’s signature. Now that he may lose his job with Trinamool withdrawing support for the United Progressive Alliance government, Roy gets consolation from the fact that he will be free from such criticism. “Now you cannot blame me anymore for staying here,” he told journalists after the dramatic marathon meeting, at which the decision to pull out was taken.
