While Congress leaders of Kerala are working overtime to campaign for the panchayat polls, one party leader is away from all this — Shashi Tharoor. The first-time MP from Thiruvananthapuram is not very popular in the state unit and nobody has sought his help. When asked what could be Tharoor’s role in the run-up to the elections, a senior Congress Lok Sabha MP from Kerala quipped: “Look, he is newly-married and should give a lot of time to his wife. We are capable of managing things for the panchayat polls without Tharoor’s help.”
