As the government celebrates the Digital India Week, one of its most ambitious programmes related to mandatory biometric attendance in government offices went on the blink some days back. Though the attendance system stopped working in only a handful of government offices, and was fixed within minutes, it once again pointed at the huge challenge ahead before India becomes fully digitally connected.
