Boardrooms at state-owned banks are putting pressure on the managements to split the post of chairman from that of the managing director. The latest to join the league is J&K Bank.

The board members want incumbent Parvez Ahmad to either retain his role as CEO or as chairman, but not both. Ahmad was appointed as chairman & CEO of the bank in 2016 for a three-year term.
