One small step into New Delhi’s domestic airport terminal can become one giant leap into policedom and a Kafkaesque world of passing the passenger. A commuter who took one step in past the security and remembered he had forgotten his spectacles in his car and wanted to rush back and stop the car that had just dropped him was prevented by securitymen. “Once you come inside, you cannot go outside,” a securityman ordered.
When the passenger asked the airlines staff to help, they shrugged their shoulders. The policeman wanted the passenger to enter his particulars in a book before taking ten steps out of the terminal to his waiting car to collect his spectacles.
